Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole daughter of Richard McCormick, and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. She was raised by her mother, who was an housewife, and her father who taught. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three older brothers. McCormick has always loved dancing, singing and creating puppet shows. Her rise to fame as a fairytale began when she was crowned the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest in the age group of 6. This led to a call from talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who inquired if she'd like to be in show business. McCormick was chosen to play in her first major part in 1964, in an tv commercial featuring Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. She did another commercial in 1964, for the Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was chosen to play the lead role in the play Wind It up and It breaks, a production at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick won a 1969 audition from 1,200 youngsters to be one of the oldest twins on The Brady Bunch TV program The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed with Robert Reed. The show ran for 5 seasons. In her autobiography Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice which was published in 2008 McCormick revealed that during the fifth season of the show, she nearly lost her virginity due to her onscreen brother and co-star Barry Williams. In the moment, she was just 16 years old and he was 19. It would have happened she said but the timing wasn't the right time for us.
